Steering dampers should be mounted in a Lateral Direction (North South). Lateral alignment gives far better and effective control and this damper suits the Melotti Racing Lateral Mount System. When mounting a Steering Damper across the bike (Transversely) you are severely limiting the effectiveness of the device and any high side prevention comes from the hydraulic block effect which takes away front end feel.. Sad but true a transversely mounted damper may not be much more than a gimmick and could even make the high side effect harder to control.
