It is essential to limit the steering angle of racing motorbikes. The steering limiter reduces the chances of the steering geometry during a slide or steering wobble or steering tuck going past the point of arc violation which causes the high-side to exert all the bikes energy into bucking the rider skywards. If this angle is reduced the high side velocity can be substantially reduced and consequently often made controllable by the rider.

Once apon a time steering weights where introduced to try and slow down the velocity, fortunately today we can use steering dampers and steering limiters.
